Short-Notice School Closures or Attendance Restrictions
In the event of a short-notice unavoidable school closure or restrictions on attendance where school access for pupils is restricted, we will provide remote learning as follows:
Key Stage 3
Students at KS3 will be directed to complete:
- Sparx Maths
- Sparx Reader
- Educake for Science
Other subjects may set a piece of work related to the current curriculum.
Key Stage 4
Students at KS4 will be directed to revision materials and past papers to support their exam preparation.
Communication
All remote learning arrangements will be communicated to parents and students via Class Charts.
Longer Periods of Unavoidable School Closure
In the event of longer periods of unavoidable school closure, in addition to the above, the school will implement a timetable of online lessons which will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.
Access and Support
If your child does not have access to a device or the internet, please contact the school as soon as possible so we can discuss alternative arrangements.
Safeguarding
Our safeguarding procedures continue to apply during any period of remote learning. If you have any concerns about a child's welfare, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately.
Individual Pupil Absence
In cases where an individual pupil is unable to attend school, for example for medical reasons, but is able to learn remotely, a referral will be made to Tameside Local Authority under section 19 of the Education Act 1996. Parents/carers should contact the school to discuss their child's specific circumstances and learning needs.
