In order to ensure that all of our students are comfortable and safe while at school and looking ahead to another forecast of hot weather expected for the rest of this week, students may choose to:

  • Wear their Alder PE kit to school (including appropriate footwear - not sliders or crocs) or
  • Wear their normal school uniform including shoes and ties but without their blazer

Please ensure your child still brings their school bag, all necessary equipment for lessons and their locker key. We also recommend providing your child with a refillable water bottle to ensure that they remain hydrated throughout the day and wear sun cream.

A polite reminder that our usual high expectations remain. Jewellery must not be worn and will be confiscated by staff. Students are not permitted to wear false lashes or nails and will be asked to remove these. 

Form tutors and pastoral staff will continue to work with pupils to ensure that the Alder PE kit/summer uniform are worn smartly so that we maintain high standards. 

Please kindly support us by ensuring that you have discussed the uniform expectations with your child. We take pride in the smart appearance of our school community and believe it is important to foster a sense of pride and belonging across our entire school.

A reminder that this week on Thursday we have a number of students out on reward visits to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Cineworld and Bowling. Students on these visits are permitted to wear their own clothes, we ask that pupils come dressed appropriately, Please note that clothing should be appropriate for school with no revealing cropped tops or items displaying offensive language or slogans. For students remaining in school, all students must be in PE kit as some elements of the day are practical. 

Finally, Friday will be an own clothes half day, again with the above expectation. We kindly ask for a minimum £1 donation, which can be paid in cash or via ParentPay. All proceeds will go towards supporting school projects.
