Staffing news
We say goodbye to our Senior Science Technician, Mrs Wrigley after 20 years of service at Alder. Mrs Wrigley has also been a governor at the school and we wish her all the very best for her retirement. Also, we say goodbye to Mr Watt in PE after 11 years at Alder. Mr Watt is moving onto pastures new and we also wish him all the very best for the future. Thanks to both staff for all they have done for the students at Alder.
Job vacancies
As Mrs Wrigley is retiring we are looking to appoint a Senior Science Technician The details of the vacancy can be found on this link. The post is being offered as full time, all year round but term time only or part time would also be considered. In addition, we are also recruiting for a technician on a term time only basis due to the current post holder taking on a new role in school. Details of this vacancy can be found on this link.
Year 11 Parents’ Evening
Year 11 Parents' Evening is taking place face to face, at Alder Community High School on Wednesday, 4th January 2022 between 3.30pm and 6.30pm. Flu Vaccination for Year 7, 8 and 9
The IntraHealth NHS Immunisation Team will be in school early in the new year to administer the nasal flu vaccine to students in Year 7, 8 and 9. If you haven’t done so already, please complete the online consent form. You need to complete the form even if you do not wish to give consent. It will also give you the option to choose the nasal or the injectable vaccine. Please complete this form as soon as possible, it will close for completion on 9th January at 11.59pm. Support during the holidays
Winter, and in particular Christmas, can be a difficult time for some people and I would like to remind parents and students that support can be accessed at Kooth and Qwell
Kooth and Qwell are free, safe and anonymous sites that offer confidential support to young people and adults across Greater Manchester via community spaces, self-help tools and access to online counselling. Kooth is available for age ranges 10-25 and Qwell is available for ages 26+
