We are organising a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Monday 22nd July 2024 for students in years 7 – 10. We hope to take the majority of our students on this trip and have informed students that as long as they have displayed our Alder value of ‘excellence’ in their attendance and behaviour this year, they are able to come on the trip. This will be judged on a case by case basis in order to allow ‘fair and equitable’ access for this event.

Tickets for the Pleasure Beach and transport to and from Blackpool is costly but we have been able to subsidise the cost a little through school funds, resulting in a reduced price of £32.00 per student.

Your child will need a packed lunch, or money to purchase food; any child entitled to a free school meal will be given a packed lunch from school which needs to be ordered in advance (please email schooltrips@alderchs.uk).

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a cashless attraction, with all shops and restaurants accepting credit or debit card only. Students who do not have access to a debit or credit card will be able to upload cash to a pre-paid Pleasure Beach Card upon arrival at the park. This can then be used at units across the park. Please note this card is not accepted at Burger King.

We will be leaving school at 8:30am and returning at approximately 5.00pm; you will need to make arrangements for your child’s safe passage home. Please be aware that there will be no access to the school car park when the coaches return and very limited parking on the main road outside school.

To secure your child’s place on this trip please log on to ParentPay and pay in full by Friday 5th July.

Students will only be allowed to attend this trip if the whole balance has been paid in advance. We recognise that for some families, finances at home may be particularly challenging. If you have any concerns about payment, please contact our finance department on finance@alderchs.uk.

The final decision on students travelling to Blackpool Pleasure Beach remains at the discretion of the Headteacher. Your child’s Progress Leader has looked at each child’s attendance and behaviour this year and this invite has been sent to those who ‘qualify’ at this stage. Students may be removed from any school trip due to poor behaviour, up to and including the day of the trip. Please note your payment will not be refunded should your child be removed from the trip by yourself or by school.
