Today our school was devastated by the news that one of our year 10 students has passed away following a battle with cancer. Most of our year 10 students were sent home to be supported by friends and family but a small group of students remained in school to access our support. Staff and students have been impacted by this sad news and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. After the half term break, we will be opening a book of condolence and will be looking at other ways to commemorate his life. Guidance and support will be offered to students who need it when they return from the holiday.

It can be difficult to know how to support your child with the grieving process. Over the holidays, our students will be able to access the helpline at Winston’s Wish if they feel they need support. The helpline is open Monday-Friday 9-5. The link to the website is below and the number is 08088 020 021.
